Butterflies

Greetings!  So lovely of you to drop by my blog!  My post today is for the April Challenge for the Pink Team over at Eclectic Ellapu.  The theme this month is:  Out of Your Comfort Zone.  I decided this would be a great time to push myself to try my new box of Brusho Crystals. It is also my first try using Hot Press water color paper.  The focal image is by Red Lead Paperworks and the washi tape is by Scarlet Lime and 3M.  I cannot wait to use the Brusho Crystals again!  What makes you uncomfortable?  Why not give our challenge a go?  For inspiration, please see what the rest of the Pink Team took on that was out of their comfort zone.  Hugs, Yvonne

For Beautiful Eyes

Greetings and thank you for stopping by! It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Inkspirational.   This time a colour challenge:  Neon!  Loads of inspiration by the Design Team for you to check out over at Inkspirational!

For my own card, I stenciled the background using a TowBow Marker.  The focal image and sentiment by Stamping Bella were stamped on scrap card, colored with more TowBow Markers and attached to the card front.  The washi tape is by Scarlet Lime. The splats of black ink are from Dr. PH Martin's Bombay Ink.  I hope you will submit a project of your own.  We'd love to see it.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Yvonne

Making a Place Beautiful

Greetings! So good of you to drop by! Sharing a card with you today that I made for my oldest daughter's birthday. Her favorite color is turquoise so I chose that for the focal image, which is by Donna Downey. The other images are by Dina Wakely. I used Silks Acrylic Paints and Ranger Archival Ink. I had a lot of fun with this one!  Hugs, Yvonne

Wonder and Think

Greetings!  It is so lovely of you to drop by my blog today.  My post today is for the newest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme, picked by me, is to create a project using your "Favorite 'Go To' Stamp."  I took a sneak peek at what my Design Team Sisters created and I know you will be absolutely delighted and inspired to pick you own favorite stamp and share with FSC for a chance to win a gift voucher worth $20 from our ever generous sponsor FlonzCraft.  For my own card, the choice was easy.  This boy and girl and sentiment from Artistic Outpost have been in my collection for a long time.  I never grow tired of these images.  For my card today, I decided to see how they would work in a mixed media setting, as I generally go very vintage with them.  Dylusions Ink sprays, washi tape, repurposed designer paper and Dr. PH Martin's Bombay Ink complete my card.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Cannot wait to see your favorite stamp!  Hugs, Yvonne

Dream with your Heart!

Greetings! Back today to share with you another card I made for a recently found challenge site over at Unity!  I chose the color challenge shown below.

On watercolor paper, I added Kuretake Watercolors in various shades of green and coral.  I was delighted with how the background turned out and think it looks a lot like the photograph.  I used the Angie Girl: Dream with your Heart stamp set, scraps of paper and washi tape and buttons from my stash.  Thanks so much for dropping by! Hugs, Yvonne

Honor Your Heart

Greetings and thank you for stopping by! My post today is for the new challenge over at Inkspirational.  This time around, our challenge is to create a project using "She Art" or if you prefer, a feminine figure.  "She Art" to me represents designs that feature women and sentiments that are meant to encourage or empower us.  I am not sure how long "She Art" has been around, but I have begun to notice more and more of it in the past several years and am really drawn to it for some reason.  For my own card, I began by misting the card base with several shades of Dylusions Ink Sprays.  The focal image and sentiments are from Donna Downey and were colored in with Towbow Markers.  I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the Design Team have cooked up to inspire you and then submit one of your own designs!  Hugs, Yvonne

Fresh Beginnings

Greetings! It is time for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  For the next two weeks, show us your projects with a Fresh Look of Spring! For my own card, I began by watercoloring a panel with springlike colors.  I tore bits of it and added it to a card panel.  The focal panel is by Red Lead Paperworks, and the little girl and sentiment are by Oxford Impressions, as are the delicate bird buttons.  A vintage seam binding bow completes my card.  Please check out the inspiring work of the rest of our Design Team and then I hope you will consider making a project of your own to share with us.  As always, our generous sponsor FlonzCraft has a $20 gift voucher for one of our lucky participants.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Girly Birthday Wishes

Greetings! Thank you, as always, for stopping by today.  I recently popped over to one of my first ever challenge sites that I joined called Make My Monday and saw they are having a "Girly Birthday" challenge.  I decided to join in and cooked up the following card.  The perfume bottles by Crafty Individuals are stamped onto the card base with Watering Can Archival Ink.  Audrey is stamped with Black Archival Ink, trimmed and mounted to the card front over a frilly pink doily.  The sentiment, by Hero Arts was added next.  I decided to add a bit of pink and red dotted washi tape for a punch of color.  Thanks for all your inspiring and encouraging comments.  Best, Yvonne

She Decided To Leap!

Greetings!  Just getting back into joining into challenges and found that Unity Stamps has a challenge site called "Be Inspired!"  As you can see above, I chose the color challenge for my project.  I do not have a lot of Unity Stamps, yet, but have recently done some stocking up.  Just waiting for them to arrive.  I began with an 8" x 8" card base.  I added scraps of designer paper in light and true turquoise to the card base.  I then added scraps of a recycled paper bag.  I stamped "She Leaped" on scrap card and water colored her with Inktense Pencils.  After adhering her to the card front, I determined more color was needed in the background so I added several shades of Dylusions Ink Sprays.  To brighten up the background, I dipped a spray bottle cap in Golden Titanium White Fluid Acrylics and stamped it all over the background.  I also added some Golden High Flow White Titanium Acrylic to the right top of the card and let it drip down the card front. The sentiment, also by Unity, was stamped with Archival Ink onto scrap card, trimmed and added to the card front.  The border of the sentiment was added with a Black pen.  A scrap of yellow and white fabric and a yellow button complete my card.  I really enjoyed making this card.  Thanks for dropping by!

It's Time!

Greetings! My post today is a last in a series of posts for March 2015 Gecko Galz Imagery.  I cannot speak highly enough about the gorgeous images that Gecko Galz offers month after month, year after year. The image above is from the Fashionable Hats Collage Sheet.  It's funny, but I still find it hard to incorporate hearts into my cards except at Valentine's Day.  Anyone else struggle with this?  Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Have Faith

Greetings!  Back with another card I made with the new imagery for March 2015 from Gecko Galz.  When I saw this Victorian Spring Stamp I just loved it.  At first I planned to color it in, but I really liked it in black and white so I decided to emphasize black and white instead with just a hint of soft color in the background using Victorian Spring Paper.  The sentiment is by Red Lead Paperworks and I added washi tape, Dr. PH Martins India Ink drops, and used Golden High Flow paint in Titanium White.  Thank so much for stopping by.  I hope you take a look at all of the wonderful new images over at Gecko Galz.  Best, Yvonne

A Garden and A Library

Greetings! Over the next few days, I will be sharing with you a number of cards that I made with new imagery over at Gecko Galz for March 2015.  For my first card, I worked with Victorian Spring Icons, Victorian Spring Paper Pack and In the Garden Collage Sheets, all released in March by Gecko Galz to create my card.  The sentiment is from Oxford Impressions.  A bit of Ranger Stickles for sparkle and a vintage seam binding bow complete my card.  Thanks for dropping by.  Best, Yvonne
